Helping migrant women farmers

Dreams Foundation partnered with organizations The Working Group for Women and Land Ownership (WGWLO) network (established 2002) and Utthan (established 1981) NGO in Gujarat, aiming to support women farmers with grassroot partners who work across 13 districts in Gujarat. These small and marginal women farmers, having less than 2 acres of land, have become vulnerable to becoming food insecure due to the Covid-19 related situation. Dreams Foundation led a campaign to provide farming kits at Rs.350 a kit to these farmers. With the funds raised through Dreams foundation’s patrons and Milaap campaign, a total of 633 women farmers have received Climate resilient food crop seeds and 144 women farmers have been supported to grow nutritious vegetables in their kitchen gardens.
